Book Review: The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

All I can say is wow! They did it again. This was an awesome book filled with tons of plot twists and secrets.

Goodreads summary: If Avery Chambers can’t fix you in 10 sessions, she won’t take you on as a client. Her successes are phenomenal—she helps people overcome everything from domineering parents to assault—and almost absorb the emptiness she sometimes feels since her husband’s death. Marissa and Matthew Bishop seem like the golden couple—until Marissa cheats. She wants to repair things, both because she loves her husband and for the sake of their 8-year-old son. After a friend forwards an article about Avery, Marissa takes a chance on this maverick therapist, who lost her license due to controversial methods. When the Bishops glide through Avery’s door and Marissa reveals her infidelity, all three are set on a collision course. Because the biggest secrets in the room are still hidden, and it’s no longer simply a marriage that’s in danger.

As you can tell from that foreboding description, there is a lot going on in this book. Besides just the main story of Marissa and Matthew trying to work out their marital issues, there are plenty of other secrets and plot twists to keep you going. This was a book that’s hard to put down once you get started because there is always something going on and you want to find out what happens next.

Of all the mini-stories going on in this book, I think my favorite is Romeo’s story. ❤️❤️ But I’m also a sucker for dogs. 🐶

I definitely recommend this for everyone. I feel like there’s a little bit of everything in this book—definitely lots of mystery/thriller vibes, but also some family drama, tiny bit of romance involved, and of course who wouldn’t love a story involving a rescue dog??

Thank you to the authors, St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for letting me read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my opinion and review. 📖
