January Check-in & Update

Well, I missed posting last week so there goes my goal of a weekly blog post, but maybe I can manage every other week?!? Lots of craziness going on and staying busy with work and online classes. I haven’t gotten as much reading done as I had hoped to the past couple of weeks. I did just finish an audiobook yesterday and an e-book today though. Yay me! I completed My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell on audiobook that I borrowed from my library and The Finders by Jeffrey B. Burton that I had received an early copy of from NetGalley. Both of these were 3-star reads for me. I haven’t found anything that I’ve just loved lately, which is sad. I was hoping to start this year off with some great books.

If you haven’t heard of NetGalley, it is a website that I signed up with as a blogger to be able to request advance copies of books before they are published in exchange for an honest review on my blog and Goodreads. I learned about it from a BookTuber I started watching (2019? Last year? I can’t remember when it was…) and that’s what got me excited about starting a blog. I love to read books and compare opinions with fellow book lovers.

I’m currently in the middle of reading Anxious People by Fredrik Backman, which I chose as my Book of the Month pick for January since I had heard such great things about it. His writing style is different and was hard for me to get into at first, but I’m liking it more the more I read. I’m about halfway through it so far and hoping to finish it before the end of January. I also started listening to American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins on audiobook borrowed from my library. I’ve barely started it so I will post more about it later. 😉

What are you currently reading? Have you read any of these books?
